Hi,

ACCPAC version 5.3 Latest SPs
MS SQL 2005
Database collation : SQL_Latin_General_CP1_CI_AS

I am trying to create an external crystal report using ODBC.

I am having a problem with the date format when I place the date field on the crystal report.

Examples of the date formats I am receiving are :
333,044,415.00
202,020,202.00

Can anyone identify any causes for this ?

The Accpac dates are stored as numbers in the format YYYYMMDD.
Those numbers do not look correct, have you checked what the dates look like in the database?

Dates like 20202020 usually mean somebody has written an external program to update Accpac records outside of using the COMAPI views. What you're seeing is spaces, instead of YYYYMMDD.

Hi Etienne & Jay ,

Thanks for the valuable responses.

However;
1.Looks perfect YYYYMMDD when looking at it through the
MS SQL Server Management Studio
2.There are no external applications that run and update ACCPAC tables.

Jay - Is there a way of eliminating those spaces you mention in Crystal ?
Any other possibilities ?

I've seen dirty dates like that occasionnally, you simply edit them in Enterprise Manager or MSAccess. Just make them look like a valid YYYYMMDD number.
