Can I make a backup under SQL 2000 and restore it under SQL 7?

Strange request perhaps but I am just being cautious with regard to an upcoming upgrade - i.e. if something were to go wrong under SQL 2000 after a week of data entry, could we transfer the data back to the SQL 7 server while the problem is investigated and resolved?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks - I only searched within this forum (silly boy).

I think the thread you referenced contains enough to convince me that it is not a good idea to try this. I guess the best route will be either to parallel run the two servers until we are satisfied or risk having to intensively re-enter a lot of data in one hit should some devastating problem arise and we have to restore.
