SPS2003 MySite & Site-wide Templates

Has any ever tired to create a site-wide template, but make it available to MySite users?

I've created a template for a project task list... works great for the "sites" under the portal; however, users would like to be able to use it on their MySites; however, it doesn't show up for MySites...

Ideas?
