hi everyone.

Our company wants to customize the advanced search in SPS2003. For example: We would like to customize the list "search after typ" where you can choose between area, document, list and such. If possible, we would like to remove this list because its not needed.

But whats mroe terrible is the list at the bottom where you can definy metadata to be searched. This list is way too long!
There is standard things inside like image height or image url which we dont need at all. Can we clean this list to only our own metadata?

we already found good description about this:
(at the bottom under (Searching Custom Metadata in Microsoft SharePoint 2003))

The only problem is that some standard metadata is not deleteable or that searching after our custom metadata doesnt work sometimes and that some of our metadata arent even showing up in the list urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice.
And some of the metadata has no prefix and some of them has the prefix "ows_". Does anybody know the reason of some of these weird things or maybe a place where documents about this are available?
Help will be apprechiated very much! Thanks!

Greetings, Lucas
