I have noticed in some literature when they discuss SWF's they also talk about sprites. Is that the same as a MC in a SWF? The secret in education lies in respecting the student. {Ralph Waldo Emerson}.

And sprites in Director are not exactly the same thing as MCs in Flash

Yes you are right. Sprite is used in director but I have found it in Flash movies. Using SoThink it decompiles the SWF and shows frames and sprites. Should it not show up as MC's? The secret in education lies in respecting the student. {Ralph Waldo Emerson}.

So SoThink is using frames and sprites? You are seeing the sprites in this SoThink decompiler? Or are the sprites and frames being seen in Flash? If there is any equivalent to sprites for Flash it would be the term instance. As in an instance of a MC. The MC itself should be found in the library, not on the stage or timeline area.
