spreadsheet cannot be accessed - need help!

Got a spreadsheet that was password protected. Now it won't accept the password and I get the following msg -

"'filename.xls' cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding."

It's local so it's not on a server. I can't get it to open up even to read it.

Is there any way around this?

Try making a copy of the .xls file and open the copy. Also, remember that passwords are case-sensitive.
