Hi, I was wondering whether anyone had any experience of 'Spotlight', an Oracle system monitoring tool (or suite of tools) from Quest Software. I have an evaluation copy, but am struggling to install this as it rejects my DBA userid and password, which I know are correct. Just a shot in the dark (Spotlight - he he ;-)), any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.

We use Spotlight for Oracle on our production databse and used the SYS user and password for first connection to set up the Spotlight user and objects etc. Many Thanks.

Thiko!

Thanks Thiko. I've been using sys too, but keep getting the following error message:

The connection could not be established.

Details:
Initialization error
Could not locate OCI dll

The message below this seems to indicate that Spotlight thinks that the user is already logged on elsewhere and cannot be reconfigured until they have logged off. I don't know whether this is a red herring as the OCI.dll message seems more pertinent to what I'm trying to do. Any ideas?

Just an update - I found the OCI.dll file and this seems to have done the trick as far as it goes. Unfortunateley, I'm still having problems in adding a Spotlight user as the system still requires me to log off a user as mentioned above. Still, one step forward, two steps back is at least moving in some direction, if not the right one! Any further help much appreciated.
