How does one get XP 6.0 to generate a PDF separated for spot color? I have tried generating a PostScript file for Distiller. The PS file generates and I can see that it is generating a plate for each page -- so far, so good -- but Distiller says there's a problem with the file and won't open it.
If I use XP 6.0's Export as PDF feature, the PDF is a composite, and in the advanced print settings, it tags the halftones as CMYK, even though they are grayscale in the XP document.
I also tried changing XP's preferences for the PDF settings for Output to "separations." When I then generate a PDF using the Export as PDF function, Acrobat won't open the resulting file and says the file is damaged.
I'm using XP 6.0 on a G4 laptop running OS 10.2.8. I have 768 MB of RAM.
