I have one of my users pc's (running XP Pro on a Windows 2003 network), it boots up fine but whenever she goes to print the spoolsv hits 100% and we have to kill it. Of course without it she can't print. This has also happened occasionally when she opens an application, the spoolsv will hit 100%. Does anyone have any ideas? I need to get her printing again.
Thanks,
Annette

try searching and deleting *.bud , *.spl,*.shd also run 'tasklist /svc' or use process explorer to see what thread is running under spoolsv... Also maybe a printer driver got corrupted, try uninstall/reinstall printers...

and now for the impressive abbreviations:
DOA, SOL, AWOL, PEBKAC, id10t, FUBAR

I will also recommend that you run chkdsk c: /r, and then reboot the pc. This will fix any errors with the hd. Then I would do a defrag. I've seen fragmented drives cause similiar problems.

Yes, I understand I may catch hell for the above, but I've had similiar problems that defrag fixed.

Thanks! Deleted the files and reinstalled the printers.
So far all is well!
