Hi

I want to spool files without print it out. ( lpr or lp, not in AIX ! i know there is a good solution )

I wont to define a Shell-Script as backend in a print queue to do some modifications on the file.
I studied the /etc/printcap file ( if: ) but it doesn't work.

Can anyone give me a simple solution ?
Thanks

Try directing your oputput to /dev/null

We use this as a print command to bin the output.

If it's anything like that other UNIX operating system, then you should look at the spool interface (filter) as the place to implement your manipulations. Everything going to the printer is available to you in the interface.

Hi

Ok how does your /etc/printcap looking ?
Which Argument is the Spoolfile the will be send to the Filterscript $6, or $3 ?
