I had a user with a full hard drive. On examination I found the winnt\system32\spool\printer folder had 3.2 gig yes gig of temp files in it. Has anyone else had this problem and how to fix it? This has happened on 2 machines on the network already. We have a 2k server with 25 workstations running win2k

Thanks Leon

In that printers properties box, under the Advanced tab, clear ( uncheck ) the Keep printed documents box.

This will delete the temps after the print job is done. If in the future you find you need to track down someone for abusing the print device, put a check back in there.

I will give that a try on monday. We had 2 other machines with similar problems friday afternoon, I hope that will fix it. I will find out monday.

I tried what you said and that option was not selected. any other suggestions on why these temp files keep getting created?

If the machine has more than one printer installed on it, clear that box from all of them.

I know you said that "this has happened on 2 machines on the network already".
Are these two part of a print pool or do they print to a local device? If they are not in a pool, you can always choose not to spool ( print directly to the printer ).
Besides that I sorry to say I can't help.
