Hello all,
We are in the process of retiring one of our old IBM 390 Mainframe system. The bulk of our applicatons run now on IBM AS/400 - Iseries.
We need to be able to reprint old reports / spool files produced on the Mainframe after we pull the plug on it. I've been asked to investigate the best way to transfer the spool files from the Mainframe to our AS/400 so we can reprint them if needs be.
Has anyone out there done this before? What would be the best way to accomplish this? Can we actually send the spool files straight to our AS/400 using something similar to the SNDNETSPLF command? What about formatting and control characters? Or would we be better off to save the spool files as data and write a program to reproduce the spool file?
