We have isolated the behaviour of Win2k...(I think). The machine reboots or shuts-down while surfing the 'net. Modem was replaced (USR was used in place of original Actiontek). Behaviour remains the same. Any firther ideas?
i also have the same problem.i replaced my modem with no luck.i also have all power options off in bios and win2k.please if you find out anything let me know.
i seemed to solved the problem.its source is the modem but from connection problems.windows 2000 pro has setting to reboot automatic if there is system failure.i guess a connection problem triggers this.to disable this go to control panel click system than click advance tab then click startup and recovery.under system failure unclick automatically reboot.this has worked for me except now i loose connection.but at least my whole system dont reboot.i also seen elsewere in tek-tips where you can learn how to fix connection problems.i will has to give it a try.
The recovery option is a good idea, however a modem problem cannot be the only cause. I don't have a modem and elso experience occasional reboots.
