i have a magix system that i administered by spm from my laptop(external and internal) thru *10. then i added a t1 and that's when i noticed that i couldn't connect from outside the system by dialing either the pots or t1 lines then transfer to the *10... i could hear the modem sounds but i could not even get the password window... i could however connect internally from an extension by dialing *10. anyone?

I connect to systems all the time through T1 & Pri Circuits.

I recommend checking in Maintenaince to see if you are having any problems with the T1 itself (Slips, misses etc.)

I would also reset the 2 rs232 ports from maintenance, but that's just a thought.

After all, if you can connect internally with *10 on an T&R extension, it should work externally as well.

The other thought that comes to mind (which would seem to make your "couldn't connect from outside the system by dialing either the pots or" go out the window is perhaps the T1 lines are TOO HOT (transmission wise), but, based on your description, that does not sound like the case.

tk u for ur reply..i will have the chance to try this on tuesday 10/28 and i will let you know the results asap...
