using winspm.... I should have status response test in the quick access available but that command is greyed out...

Confusion:
I am trying to track down a wall jack to pbx.
Toned it out to 110 block followed it back to pbx
It was located in 016etr card Logical ID 61. Phone they want is a mlx...

I moved plug to 408mlx board logical ID of 86. went to program phone from switch..switch doesn't see anything. Went to phone and wall jack and line is dead.

I am going to verify wiring in outlet since I didn't do that...

Another confusing issue is there is another open port on board 5 408gls position 40... I assumed it was logical ID 40 but when I check my extensions another extension is assigned to it with an adjunct.. I don't under stand. Used to g3si. extension =portID I don't have manual so I am going to avaya's site to download the admin book but this should have been a 15 min trackdown and change.

If you have WINSPM, do a PRINT of the EXTENSION DIRECTORY.

That should clarify things for you.

If you are connected to a legend or a Magix R1, the status responce test was non-existent. So therefor it would not work. That feature came out with the Magix 1.5. Just an idea on what might be happening with winspm.

Another helpful tip is if you happen to know the slot/port assignent, you could go into maintence-->port-->station..and type in *{slot assignment}{port assignment}, as an example *0503. This will then tell you what station is assigned to that port, and by pressing status, it will tell you the slot/port assignment, logical ID, the extension number, if it is Maintenance busy or not. You could as well type in #{logical ID} to locate a station by logical Id. Of course you could just type in a station number to locate it. Hope this helps.

PS does anyone have the link to the admins guide?
I went to avaya's site for documentation and all I found was the non technical System Manager's guide...
not really useful

Thanks

I will reverify which version Merlin I had...

Some ETR ports can be programmmed for single line sets. Is it cross connected with 2 pairs?

Haven't had the chance to hunt it down. I plugged it into a MLX board to see if it would work but it doesn't even show connected. Hopefully I will have time to look into this but at the moment I am fighting with a Data Access Page that has to be ready for 12/01/07
