Splitting PDFs

My printer would prefer I supply a magazine page by page individually But I would rather just send over sections of 16 pages each.

Is there a swift and automated way of splitting these sections of 16 into individually named PDFs?

Document menu/pages/extract.

Select the pages you want, extract and Save As.

You can also use the Pages navigation pane for this, if that's easier for you.
