Splitting off PRI channels for fax server

I have a MICS with 4.1 Software & 23 channel PRI working on a DTI Card. Computer vendor proposes placing an Adtran Atlas 550 and a Dual Port T1/PRI Module(made for Atlas 550) between the T-1 Smart Jack and my Norstar. He says the Atlas will then generate a PRI signal using 19 channels(+ D)to the PBX and a PRI signal to the fax server using 4 channels(+ D).

Voice or data techs - Will this work well enough for me to give my client the green light? What is your experience with this application? Thank you.

Yes. That is the way to go. Atlas is a great product
