I'm not a Gates lover, nor am I a Gates hater.

But, having a bunch of attorneys and Joel Klein (the US governments point man on the suit) decide to split the company into two companies 1) the windows operating system and 2) everything else just seems stupid to me.

Why not split them into a corporate division (NT, office), a software development division (VB, Access...), a retail division (desktops, word, powerpoint...) and a media division (msn, cable, etc...)? Basically any way you split it is silly, but the one they picked seems unusually bad.

Ghost

I'm not a MS lover, but right now is the best game in town. I would like to choose what browser and ect. I use. To me breaking up MS is one thing, why not just take IE out of Windows, and all the other add on programs.
The biggest gripe I have is that IE5 is tried into every progam MS puts out. I run Win98/Netscape 4.72/56bit. I needed to up date my money last month, so I got Money2K and it loaded IE5 and SCREWED my whole system up.
WHY can't MS do what the poeple want and just take out the garbage they call IE!!!
I am working now, learning Linux. Maybe in a few months i will crash ALL my Window boxes and load Linux.
R & G Computers
rafales@carnegienet.net
