I am trying to calculate billable days for each month. the problem is I only have a from and a to date that the consultant worked ... so when the from date is from one month ie 29/05/2003 and the to date is 02/06/2003 how do I split it so the May days will go within the May grouping and the June days will go to the June grouping.

I am doing this within a cross tab

thank you

Group by the month (place the date in the crosstab, select the date and select group options->A column will be printed->For Each Month

Sorry, I misread the post.

For a crosstab you might want to build out the correct data, otherwise you'll probably have to build a manual crosstab, which will be version dependent.

Write a formula:

Month({DateField})&"-"&year({DateField})

Make the formula a column in your crosstab.
