Hi i'm pretty new to Access and i have just recieved a telemartketers phone list in access.

Now i already have a way to use this information but i need to split the phone numbers from the area codes.

what i have is (03) 9873 3857 in one field but i need the area code in a seperate field
eg:
Area Code | Phone Number
(03) | 9875 2546
(02) | 9587 2546
(05) | 9826 5412

Is there a way to do this? - the area codes are always the same format ie: (02) or (03) or (05)

i though of transfering it to excel to use the text to column feature but i have over 1,300,000 lines of phone numbers so i would have to split it way to many times.

any help would be greatly appreciated
