Split cost of item between 2 or more people, Aloha TS 6.5

I know about the equal payments button that can split 1 check equally between multiple people.

One of the PDF server guides I have has a method for splitting an item between guests but I do not find the "split" button mentioned and cannot do what it says to do. It may be a quickservice only thing or maybe a configuration issue.

How would I split the price of 1 out of several items ordered between the guests at a table?

I found my own answer to this by searching aloha.ini for split

one line was

NOSPLITITEMS=TRUE

I changed that to

NOSPLITITEMS=FALSE

voila.... I have a split item button now


WARNING: once you split an item you cannot void it AND there does not appear to be any
way to combine it back together so I will instruct the manager to use cautiously
