Hi All,
I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post the following question, but here goes:
I am looking for some advice on how to handle a situation that I have been trying to resolve for a number of weeks.
My company has recently signed up for a dedicated server service (with a static public IP address). Shortly after the server was placed online, whenever I POP3´d my emails to my PC, the PC firewall alerted me that it was trying to connect to a domain which is unknown to me.
After querying that domain on dnsreport, I realised that they have an SPF record pointing to our server´s IP address.
I then contacted the hosting company and explained the situation and they told me that they did not know anything about it and that the domain is not one of their clients.
I have tried on numerous occasions to email the webmaster of that domain, with no reply.
I am concerned that this may affect our clients.
Is there anything I can do on our server to block this SPF record? If not, is there another solution I can look at?
Any help on this will be highly appreciated.
If it helps:
Operating System: Fedora Core 4
Sendmail version: sendmail-8.13.4-2
Thanks,
Lidinho
