Spellcheck selected area? 1

In a large document I would like to use spellcheck on changes without having to do through the whole thing. I've tried selecting an area but to no avail.

...in my version of indesign (CS2) there is a pull down menu at the very bottom of the spell check dialogue, this allows whole doc, story or selections...

...there is also the option for dynamic spelling in CS2, very handy, this allows the user to change spelling with just a right click of the mouse, with just the cursor in a word with no selection necessary...
