Speedtouch 330 modem on Fedora release 7 (Moonshine)

Hi

I have Speedtouch 330 modem that i have setup on Fedora release 7 (Moonshine). If i connect to the internet trough my router i can connect at 8154kbps download and 512kbps upload. If i connect to the internet trough my modem it connect at 2264kbps download and 215kbps upload. If anybody knows why this is the case and might know how to fix this, please let me know. I have setup the modem with the help of the tutorial located

Sounds like more of a hardware issue than a software issue. Perhaps someone in the Networking forum could help shed some light on it?
