I recently installed a Ultra ATA/ 133 PCI-to-ATA Host Controller. This controller was to be used to run my two hard drives and the on-board motherboard controllers are to be used to run the CDR. CDRW, DVD, Zip and floppy drives.

What should the order be for the boot sequence? My hard drives are not shown in the boot menu but instead included with the RAID Controller in a separate menu. How can I set up the boot sequence to speed up log on time. I want to decrease the boot time for logging into Windows.

So it is booting off the drives on the promise card, even though they aren't selectable boot devices? If so, then turn off all other boot devices (i.e. set boot device 1, boot device 2, and boot device 3 to none), and it should not try to boot from any other devices. Odds are, you have an entry that says Try other boot devices, and it is set to yes. Leave it that way. The promise card still has to detect the drives every time you boot.
