Situation:
- an AP which supports 11Mbs and 54Mbs
- clients that support 11Mbs

What happens when two 11Mbs clients connect to the AP? Are they sharing an 11Mbs connection? Or does the AP create a 11Mbs connection for every client?

Thanks in advance for you reply,
Remco

PS I assume this depends on the AP, so I've looked through the documentation (Dlink DWL-2000+), but I couldn't find much besides 'supports 11Mbs and 54Mbs'.

Wireless is a "shared" medium, meaning one 11Mbps AP can only serve a maximum of 11Mbps between all nodes.

So your two clients would effectively get 5.5Mbps minus overhead and signal degredation.
