I have an excel file (70MB)with 14 worksheets, each worksheet containe 20 colums and >10,000 rows. all cells have data with function that link from one to other... Every time I change some thing or even save the file it take a long time (5 min minium)or some time it said not enought memory. My computer is pentium III 933 with 768MB of ram run on windows 2000, (my intial file is 592MB and maxium is 768MB).
Is there any way I can speed up the excel file... Nothing was open while the file open
Thanks

Hello, workshop.

You should spend more time in deployment and planning than the formulas etc. Excel file should not ever get that big in a production environment. Port the project to a dbase application.

Ditto above comment and a suggestion in the meantime.

Turn the calculation mode to manual instead of automatic. Tools>options>calculations . You will get to know the F9 key but at least you can change data without waiting for it to recalc.

I would edit>move sheet to a new workbooks and play with loading linked files or not.
