I have CorelDraw11 on a Win98 machine printing to an Epson Color Stylus 900 (not the new photo 900) connected by USB. Printing an 8x10 jpg resampled to 200 dpi on the 720 resolution setting takes nearly 3 minutes to print. I am printing sublimation transfers for mousepads.

Is there a way to improve my print speed without dropping the resolution? Would the Epson Stylus RIP help with the print speed???

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Does it take 3 minutes to START printing, or 3 minutes from when it starts to when it finishes?

If it takes 3 minutes to START printing, then it's a computer speed issue... faster computer, more RAM, etc. CorelDraw does a lot of vector-to-bitmap computations before it prints the job.

If it takes 3 minutes from the time the printer starts moving to the time it's finished, well, that's about normal for that particular printer. I have the Photo Stylus 900, and to do an 8 1/2 x 11 photo takes about 5 minutes. It's the nature of that particular unit.

Just my $.02
