SPEED UP INTERNET CONNECTIN

Hello everyone.I have a question.I am running XP Home and had to reformat.Before i did this i found a web site for tweaks to improve internet connection speeds.I amconnected via cable modem.My internet speeds were around 15-20Mbps.Now i can only get10 Mbps,If memory serves me correct it was a registry tweak.Does any one know how to speed up my connection without software through tweaks or point me to a website?Thanks in advance!!

On 'speedguide.net', where do they have the patch for winXP?? I see win95, win98, winME, win2k, etc...and none for winXP...
Will the patch at

also work just fine for winXP?? It doesn't say (or I missed it)...
