Speed Up BookMarks

Hi

I have an access application that opens a word template as a new document and fills the bookmark text with the relevant information. It iterates through the word doc replacing any bookmark text e.g ClientName with the client's name e.g Miss AN Other. This is efficient when creating the template but it is very slow replacing the text. Any ideas on how to speed this up? Missy Ed - Bolton, UK

Why did you do this with bookmarks instead of a mailmerge? Seems to me the mailmerge would have been more efficient (faster), though I could be wrong.

Thanks for the reply.

We actually found mailmerge to be slower than using bookmarks. So it seems we can't win! I have had a thought about accessing the bookmark collection in word, but can't seem to find any info on it.

Any ideas ? Missy Ed - Bolton, UK
