Hello. First off, I did a search and I didn't find anything that helped me.
I recently got home (was a way for college) and got WindStream internet service (1.5mb DSL). I'm in central Pennsylvania if that helps.
We got the SpeedStream 4200 modem from windstream, and it worked pretty well for a while. Then I decided to hook up my D-Link DGL-4100 Gaming router and use it to control all my ports, packets, etc...
I have disabled the firewall on the 4200 and want to know if there is a way to turn it to "bridge mode" only so I don't have to forward or open ANY ports in the 4200 and do it souley on my DGL-4100.
When I had comcast cable internet I didn't have to fool with the modem at all, and it is a giant pain to have to forward ports in the modem, and then forward them in my router.
Is there anyway to get around that?
And on a side note, the 4200 config interface is crappy, it looks like it was designed by a monkey on crack.
