Hi guys,

Quick questions which I hope you guys can help. Im trying to set up a speed dial using the last 3 digits of a mobile ddi. For example all the company mobiles start with 07966666xxx. We would like to dial say for example the digit 8 to replace the 907966666 number and then the last three digits to complete the call.

what is the best way to do this.

any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

One way would be to use extensions and coverage paths. 'add station' #(###) where (###) is the last three of the mobile. 'change coverage remote' add the dial string to call the mobile. 'add coverage path ###' coverage point 1 = r# for whatever remote coverage slot the number is in. 'change station #(###)' add the new coverage path to the extension.

thanks for that.

It is a possibly however its not really the ideal solution. The site has nearly 700 mobile phone users.

This will mean creating 700 virtual stations and 700 coverage paths.

I've seen it configured once elsewhere but for the life of me cannot figure it out! Im pretty sure it was some method using AAR or ARS

AAR would work as well. Add a new route pattern, delet 0, insert 907966666. Where 8 is used for AAR, 'change aar analysis' add the 700 3digit mobile users min=3 max=3 and send to the new route pattern.

thanks for that.. what i have done instead is configured the second access code on the ARS code on FAC and configured the ars digit conversion to replace the string.

it works however it means again i will have to place all 700 entries in the digit conversion table.

is there no way of using wildcards or such to do the replacements.

We do not have any digit conversions, so I've not played with it. Wish I could be more help.

I think you can do this as a 1 or 2 liner
Say your mobile numbers are 3xx
Change the dial plan to use 3 with len 3 as ext
Use uniform dial plan

Matching Insert Node
Pattern Len Del Digits Net Conv Num
3 3 0 07966666 ars n

Would do it i think

Then just tell people to dial the 3 xx code

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Use uniform dialplan

8xxx when dialed will use aar analysis

requires one entry in uniform dial and one entry in aar analysis

numbers can be dialed with 4 digits or aar code + complete number
