Hi Guys
I'm struggling with this one
This issue that is happening on a BCM 50 Version 3 system to a BCM 400 Version 4 via VOIP has got me baffled!. Calls will fail when using Speed Dial numbers, or by trying to dial quickly from the terminal keypad, as you get the "number unallocated" message displayed etc. We know that the problem is only on the BCM 50. The BCM 50 system only has VOIP H323 trunks going onto the BCM 400 & it's this one which has the PRI ISDN 30 channels.
It was configured so that when a "9" is dialed, a "9" is then inserted in the routing plan along with a "#". The "#" is needed to force the call to end the dialed string, giving you the BCM 400 PRI ISDN exchange dial tone after around 1 to 2 seconds. Any other digits dialed will then work fine & the call will connect OK without any loss of digits.
I'm now wondering if this problem is due to loss of IP packet data on the first few digits used for exchange line calls. Any call made to phones on the BCM 400 are fine, only outside line calls!. There isn't any incoming line issues over the VOIP link, only for outgoing ones!.
Another area that I may need to think about is the use of Secondary Dial Tone or possibly the use of DISA, but I don't know if it will work because DISA would require a passcode when it's used.
Anyway I think that this is an issue for raising a case with Nortel as I don't think the Speed Dial has ever been tested over VOIP trunks. Both BCM sites are fully up to date with their patches.
Any help would be greatly apprieciated please?. The BCM 50 has been programmed for modem access as we have used a spare DDI number. It answers fine when you call it on a voice call, but it won't answer when using a data call over a VOIP link!. This is another issue that I think Nortel will need to be informed about.
Kind Regard's

If it's working, then leave it alone!.
