Nortel Norstar MICS with a NAM 4.0 - Can end users scan or list speed dial numbers or the directory. We are having to trade out an old Panasonic System and are considering a Norstar MICS with a NAM 4.0. The problem is everyone is use to having a display that can list the directory or speed dial numbers. Can a Nortel Norstar do this or will it do it in the future?

It's about the worst Norstar feature for the user. That being said, where I've converted a user to N* and placed the paper directory under their desk blotter, they have actually ended up liking it better. Simpler to use and they didn't have to remember button sequences and they have reported that it can be looked at while on another call.
Entering the speed dials into the system isn't hard for a good tech. There are a number of ways including and excel spread sheet with the remote utilities program.

Cheers

Cintech who makes Minuet ACD, also make "dial by name". It is a free (I believe) software program thats comes with a brand new NAM voicemail. You would enter in all of the speed dials the company and then they would use a feature code or button to access and scroll to the one they want.

Hope this helps. Refer to Cintect for more info.
