In DC Drive application, what difference between speed control and current (torque) control? Relation between speed and torque? Where to get knowledgebase of this?

Basic speed control of DC mtrs is just that... speed control constant or variable.
Torque control is mainly utilized for delicate functions where the speed is secondary but the force (torque) is most important i.e. drives that must limit the stretching of say plastic film in a process. This would be a situation where the force is what you what to control no matter the what the speed is.
