We are in the midst of replacing a customer's i640's using SVP. I've got the new handsets configured to work on the existing wireless infrastructure using SVP and the OAI Gateway.
The customer was told they could have speed dials on their individual handsets.
Our Pre-Sales guys aren't helping any longer.

Reading into the sip_allusers.cfg, there is a section on Favorites that I need some clarification...

# Favorite Dialed Numbers list.
# You can define up to 15 total entries including any defined in sip_allusers.cfg.
# Format:
# FAVORITE = dial_string; username
# You can enclose a string in quotes to allow for spaces.
# Each favorite can be complete SIP URI.
# The username can be blank and can include escaped chars.
# The dial_string can be without quotes but the name field should be in double quotes.
# The username can be blank and can include escaped characters.
# Useful features can be included such as call forwarding or dialing voicemail.
#FAVORITE = 1234; "Site Security"
#FAVORITE = "*98"; "Call Forwarding"
#
# Favorites can also be configured to prompt users to enter more digits.
# Users will be prompted with characters inside the <>'s.
# In the below example if the Feature Access Code for call forwarding is #21,
# when the user selects the Favorites option and then Call Forward they would
# see "Call Forward Enter Destination:" They would then have a chance to enter
# the forward destination before pressing the send key.
#FAVORITE = #21<Enter Destination:>; "Call Forward"
#
# In the example below the user would be prompted "Call Pickup Pickup Number:
# to enter a call pickup number # for a call pickup Feature Access Code starting with *5
#FAVORITE = *5<Pickup Number:>; "Call Pickup"
#
# If user wants to add a comment for a FAVORITE, it should be added on the next line
# (not on the same line where a FAVORITE is defined).

My question is regarding the above information... It implies that I can add the information to the sip_xxxx.cfg files too - xxxx=Extension number.
This would allow the users to each have their own specific speed-dials or favorites, RIGHT?
And if the list is included in the sip_allusers.cfg, the list would be universal to ALL handsets, RIGHT?

If users add their own PHBK entries, what happens to these entries if they break the handset and it has to be replaced?

The site also has an OAI Gateway - it has a list of entries that can be leveraged too. Only one entry is set for "OAI".

The site is a Hospital, and they're using the OAI gateway to interface from the Nurse Call system.

Sincerely,
Mark
