Hello,

I'm new to the Windows sever environment so please don't assume I know much. For the past fifteen years I have worked exclusively with Netware.

Anyway... here's my problem. I have logged into a client as administrator and I'm attempting to install an app which access an MS-Access database on a mapped drive. The install fails with the message "Specified directory is invalid, incomplete, or write protected". I have checked rights, everything seems ok, heck I'm logged on as admistrator. The path is correct... so I'm at a loss.

Would someone suggest a possible solution?

Thanks,
Lou

Hello,

I just realized I can't delete, rename, create or otherwise do anything on this mapped drive. Looks like something on the server side causing this problem. When I look at the effective rights it seems everything except FULL CONTROL is checked for NTFS and when I go into the advanced seecurity most rights exist there, no FUL CONTROL, Change Permissions or Take Ownership... but everything else exsists.

Hope this helps resolve the issue.

Thanks,
Lou

Share permissions... Shoot I only had "Read" rights. Should It be modify or full control?
