We have a RICOH 2090 copier/printer/scanner in the jury division of the court. It has been set up so that a specific type of paper is in a specific tray of the printer. Tray 1 is regular paper, 2 is letter head and 3 is special paper. I use a TPrinter component to create letters on the fly for the clerks. Does anyone know how I can print these letters to the specific tray in the printer? Thanks for any insight!

I don't have a multi tray printer so I'm only making this as a suggestion.

Using the Windows Control panel 'Printers and Faxes' application create 3 printers for your RICOH 2090.

Call the first one something like RICOH REGULAR, the second one RICOH LETTER and the third RICOH SPECIAL. In the properties of each printer select the appropriate tray.

Now your application should be able to select the appropriate printer for each paper type. The global variable Printers is a list of the available printers and the PrinterIndex property indicates the currently selected printer.

The Delphi Help is quite good on how to use TPrinter and its various properties and methods.

I've no way of testing if this idea works. I'll be interested to know if it does.
