I can't remember if it is possible but I am trying to forward one of 4 lines out of a CICS on to a night & evening schedule to an answering service, is this possible? if so how can it be done? Can I set up only one line to follow the schedules?

Use centrex forwarding on your line from the provider. Give 'em a call, and explain what you want to do.

Yes that is the best way to forward a line is to use the line feature and not the system features however it is not automatic.

If you want automatic then you need at least 4.1 software.
Create a Route
Setup up a small 7100
Forward the 7100 to answering service
Create Night Service on that line and assign the 7100 to to the ring group.
This method will tie up 2 lines for duration of call and may experience volume loss (like a conference call).

And on that 7100, make sure to enable redirect under Term&Sets/Capabilities.
