Hi,

I have an issue whereby I’m trying to route a specific extension number (3100) using the ARS digits dialled form to an Rightfax server and appear to get a dead tone when I dial the full DDI number (i.e. Calling into the number externally)I get a dead tone. However, when I dial the internal extension number (3100), rightfax answers and gives me the fax tones as expected. Other numbers I have routed works fine. I have also tried assigning a different number (3200) to rightfax and then applying a speed call to 3100 to point to 3200 and still get dead tone when I call the full ddi of 3100. This set-up also works internally when I just dial 3100.

Any idea as to what I can do to rectify this problem? We are operating two Mitel 3300 MXEs in a primary and secondary set-up..

Thanks

So to be clear you have a DID that is 3100. 3100 is an ARS digit string to the Rightfax which I assume uses SIP trunks?

What you are doing is a trunk to trunk connnection. That is why internal works. I assume you have a missing COS option in the Trunk COS. Trying to remember the right names. Something like Public Network access via DPNSS and Public Network to Public Network connection. Both set to yes.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

LoopyLou,

Thanks for our reply. I checked the COS and all was set correctly. The problem was as a result of our DDI trunks being split across both the primary and secondary MXEs. The extension in question lived on the trunk connected to the secondary MXE and needed a route back to the primary MXE where the rightfax connection is..

Thanks again for your response.
