i am looking for specialized (e.g. geological) fill patterns for use in coreldraw 9. any ideas on where to get them?

You can create your own. Either using a jpg or drawing what you want and creating a fill from it. If you're interested I can tell you how I do it. I've done a simple one just by taking a picture of a camo shirt with my digital camera and saving it as a small jpg then selected my shape and clicked on my fill tool and selected pattern fill dialog, selected bitmap then load and browsed to where I saved that camo pic. and BOOM! You can follow the same process with your vector images. Just a little more tricky setting it up.
