What's the best approach to create special date categories like 7 days (always day 1 to 7 of each month); 14 days (1 to 14); and 21 days (1 to 21)? I tried a few combination of selections under the Relative Time tab but couldn't get it right. Greatly appreciate any thought or suggestions.

Since you want the special categories for every month, I would think you'd be better off having another dimension with just day of month, and then putting special categories in there. This will have the downsides of
1) another dimension
2) main drill-down path of day dimension being list of days.

Thanks, drlex. Actually, I don't need special categories every month. It's just one set of three categories with dates change every month. For example in July, there will be July 1 to 7 under the "7-day" category and Aug 1 to 7 by next month. Just in case there's another option based on the added information, I'll look forward to it. But I'll give your suggestion a try. Thanks again.

Ah, so it's just the latest period.

I have to do something similar - a calendar year special category in a date dimension that has a financial year (may-april)

To accomplish this, I change the special category in the script that builds the cube according to the current date. For example, this month, the category is changed to 7 periods to give a January to July range. I also change the label to match the year (and remove those annual update headaches).

You'd need to consider what is required on the date of creation. For example, if created on the 20th July, should the 1-21 category be 1-21 June or just 1-20 July?
