I don't use the Mac much so excuse my apparent ignorance, but I'm simply trying to insert a multiplication sign in Quark 6 on the Mac and can't figure how to do so!!

I've found various things on the web and from what I see there is no way to get the multiplication sign that is present in every font. Another thing I found is that OPTOIN+E inserts an acute accent, which in the Symbol font is a times sign.

In Word I can hit OPTION+E and change it to the Symbol font to get a times sign. In Quark 6, however, OPTION+E doesn't insert the acute accent. When I copy and paste the character from Word into Quark I get a center dot when the Symbol font is applied!

Many thanks for any tips.

Yours in total Quarking frustration,
Ken

Many, many thanks Marcus, all too simple!

Where can I find that sort of information?

Up in the top right hand corner of your screen you will your country flag.
click on it
go down to open international

when that window comes up tick on
Show Charactor pallet and
Show Keyboard viewer

then close that window

click on the flag
then click show charater pallet, and play around with that

Hi KenWK
To get é, first hold down option key and hit e, release option key and hit e again and you get é.
