Hello all,

I am trying to get a special character in text box.

I need a small 9 that is elevated example 9 to the 9 power.

I am using Crystal 8.5 and the font that I am using is Verdana. If I have to use a different font to get my result then then that is OK. I just need to get that small 9.

Thanks

I am using a formula. What font set would be a superscript font.

Thanks

Here is the formula that I am using

Formula = "10<SUP>9</SUP>"

but all I am getting is a 10 and the 9 is smaller but not elevated.

You don't need a special font, right click the formula field and select Format Field->Paragraph->Text Interpretation->HTML.

Your first post stated that you wanted to do this in a text object, not a formula.

I am still not getting this as a super script

I created a formula call "Super Script"

within that formula I wrote

Formula = "10<SUP>9</SUP>" ---- Basic Syntax

The result I am getting is that the 9 is on the same line as the 10 but it is smaller. It is not elevated.

Thanks

Hmmm.

Well the cheat is to make them seperate and decrease the font size of the second object.

Note that if you set the File->Options->Layout->Grid Size to .011 and turn off the snap to grid you can better maneuver objects.

Yes but I am afraid that the object will shift once it is on the web.

Thanks for your help.

You might create an additional section and use the underlay following section to have it offset a bit.

You might always suffer some shifting on the web.

Im afraid these are the only solutions I'm aware of other than to find a custom superscript font.
