Special Character On mail box Username.

I have two users having special characters on their names (french speaking) countries.

When a mail is sent to one of the users the following error mesage is gotten:

A configuration error in the recipient's e-mail system prevented delivery of this message. Two recipients are configured with the same e-mail address. Contact your administrator.

Someone with any idea for resolving this issue?
