Hey Folks,

I have a Nortel MICS system in my home. I have a pair of CID copper trunk modules. I have about 30 extensions, 2 door units, 2 CTI modules and an analog unit.

The system has been up and running for about 6 years with no problems.

I use the feature 86 to leave the music on so that I have music throughout the house.

Recently the volume of the telephones keeps resetting to the maximum. Also several of my phones are intermittently losing their function programming. I switch phones and the problem stays to a particular extension. But somedays the phones are 100% functional.

The Primary extension, randomly displays a system "CLEAR" function on the screen.

I was wondering what the possible issues are ? Software ? System Battery ?

Thanks for any ideas.

There's a setting under system programming to use either set volume or system volume. You want to use set volume in your case.

Losing feature settings sounds like a software corruption. Try another software cartridge if you have one. Make sure the software release is at least the same or higher otherwise you'll default the programming.
