I have a 4 year old ACS 6.0 with 1 308EC 3.0 card in a 5 slot carrier...All sets are 34 button display and are 4 years old as well.
Problem...The speakerphone Mic's do not seem to work as well as one would expect when calling from one extension to another via HFAI ..Example...Px 10 calls Px 14...auto dial button assigned *14 with her Mic turned on...Px 14 does not hear Px 10 unless Px 10 speakes into the mic louder than normal and about 12 inches from the Mic...I know the mic is located in the base underneath the set.
Then vise versa Px 14 to Px 10...I have since found out today that this happens with all stations all sets..Total 10 stations...Handset to HFAI works ok..I have replaced 2 sets at first but no help..I have narrowed it down to all ports on both cards.
Can't do a reboot today...users are to busy...I'm at the point of walking in with a new ACS 6.0 and then retest..
Rooms are fairly quiet, no radio's, background noise to drown out mic's..This started some months ago...No Voice Mail in the system...I have not tried a 18D sets for the heck of it.Have not done a system reset #728...Everything else works fine..Any other suggestions??

Make sure there are no obstructions in front of the microphones that may cause problems. People sometimes pile junk around the phone or place it on wierd surfaces that can interfere with transmission.

Syquest..yes I checked that first...I'm at the point now where I will bring in another ACS 6.0 and plug a couple of sets into it and test station to station before I change the original out...
Thanks for the reply

Also - these have had this problem forever - they are extrememely sensitive to background noise. When people can't hear, they turn the volume up, which makes the problem worse...have they tried just turning the volume down? I have seen it solve the problem in the past.

Phonesaz....No I have not tried to turn the volume down..
Good advice...worth a try..
I have not had time to return to the site.
I have since aquired a new ACS 6.0 and plan the just plug 2 sets into it for a test at the site using the existing sets in the offices and have the users make calls while i watch and listen...

Will keep on keeping on!!
