Honestly, this probably isnt the right forum but i couldn't find any electrical or electronics forum and I'm a frequent reader of this forum and know how smart you guys are.

My question is: I have a Panasonic KX-TG1450W cordless phone and the earpiece seemed to randomly stop working.

I pulled it open and took out the little mini-speaker and took apart some extra phone and soldered the sepaker from that onto the panasonic board. It seemed to work fine. I can't leave that one in there because its huuuggeee compared to the Panasonic one and doesnt fit. I was eondering if anyone knew the proper name for this mini-speaker and if youre in a gracious mood maybe even a link to somewhere that sells them. Tomorrow hoepfully I'll be able to pick one up at RadioShack.

If it helps the mini speaker is about a 1" white circle thats about 1/4" thick and has a red and baclk wire looking to be about 24 guage. the white part has the following code etched into it: PQAX3P23ZA I'm not sure if it means anything but the Q in the code is flipped backwards.

I've attached pictures of it also

thanks for your help

I've not had much luck servicing panasonic equipment, but there are a couple places you might consider for the component.

all of these places sell in small quantities, you may want to try entering the part number on their websites and see what you come up with.

Good Luck! It is only my opinion, based on my experience and education...I am always willing to learn, educate me!

I would probably stop at a few thrift shops you can probably find a used pansonic cordless to pull the receiver out off for less than shipping would be from one of the supply houses.

Thanks for your replies guys!

I went to Radio Shack today and picked up an 8-Ohm Mini Speaker thats 1 1/8" (29mm) diameter RadioShack PN# 273-092.
Main reason why I chose this is because it looked almost the same.

I went ahead and stuck it in there (was a little tight but fit in fine) and soldered it on the board and it worked perfectly!

Thanks for your help everyone.

I have the same problem and your posting was very helpful. I just had a question about the white casing. How did you get it apart without destroying it? It seems that the top part with the serial number should come off but is glued or something. Any help would be great!

look for hidden screws

peel off any labels and look underneath pry up anything that is pryable and look there

if there is a removable battery remove it and look in the battery compartment

if you cant find any screws in may be a snap together fit in which case you have to carfully pry the seams sometimes compressing it and twsting will work its a hard technique to describe it would be easier to show in person
