Spawnl problem in windows 2000

I cannot get the spawnl command to work in windows 2000. It works fine on XP and 98. Does anyone know how to call an executable from Windows 2000. The command that I am using is:
spawnl(_P_WAIT,"hypertrm.exe","hypertrm.exe",NULL);

you could try ShellExecute or CreateProcess APIs
