Spatialsearch and text

I am working with the axDrawingControl using Csharp and I noticed that spatialsearch can't find text shapes.

Spatialsearch can't find groups unless it has some geometry. I thought the same might be true for text but apparently not. There is clearly something in the text shape that is not triggering spatialsearch but I am just flailing about trying to find it.

Any suggestions?

Figured this out. Apparently, because there is no Geometry, spatial search does not detect text objects because there is nothing to be "contained in".

I found that if I set the fill of the text objects to white or some color, spatial search can find the text objects.
